The Solomon Islands National University as part of its master planning engaged Kramer Ausenco (KA) to commence developing its three Campuses being Kukum, Ranadi and Panatina Campuses. Panatina Campus houses the biggest school; School of Education and Humanities. The Institute of Technology, School of Business & Management, School of Nursing & Health Allied Studies, School of Natural Resources & Applied Sciences and the Academic and Non-Academic Divisions are situated at Kukum Campus. The Ranadi Campus houses the Institute of Maritime studies which is the smallest Campus.
KA commenced its professional services by providing the full Architectural, Engineering and Project Management for the construction of the New Office, Lecture Theatre and Classroom Complex for the School of Education and Humanities (SOEH).
The Design consists of a 350 seat lecture theatre, a teaching block interconnected with an atrium. The classrooms includes Arts, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Home Economics, Industrial Arts, Computer labs, Tutorial Rooms, Media Centre, Conference room, offices for all Departments backed with latest Communication & media, eatery and general student facilities and amenities. Works include
Extensive building demolition and the reconstruction of new access roads and parking. The ultimate plan for SINU is to provide a quasi-public environment owned by SINU open to the local community, maximizing the landscape and functions as a public environment, a standard fit for international education.
