Shane Harris is the Office Manager and Senior Building Services Design Manager of Kramer Ausenco (Fiji)
Shane has over 24 years experience in the building services industry working in various roles including team leader, senior project manager, design manager and engineering design and construction phase delivery services of various multi disciplinary projects for Social Infrastructure (Defence, custodial, tertiary education and health), heavy industry, residential, commercial and retail.
Shane has a proven successful record of developing long term relationships and working closely with clients on small to large building service projects involved in all aspects of the project from early planning / feasibility studies, concept design through to contract management, construction and project handover. Shane is able to bring to the client’s team a culture of listening and working closely to establish close working relationships to deliver sometimes challenging and innovative projects within tight time frames and budget constraints.
Prior to joining Kramer Ausenco in September 2013 Shane, who was born in Bulolo Papua New Guinea, worked for Sinclair Knight Merz for nearly 14 years on a diverse range of projects both within Australia and overseas including Dubai and Singapore.
This exposed Shane to both national and overseas works being directly involved in mechanical services for 5000 Bed Dubai Prison Project and Park Place in Dubai (60 Storey multi development / residential tower). Shane was also state team leader for a national client demonstrating the ability to meet challenging KPI's with direct responsibility for the delivery of core engineering services for around $50M worth of telecommunication and infrastructure works across South Australia.
Prior to joining Sinclair Knight Merz, Shane developed his career as a young cadet in Darwin Northern Territory with a scholarship with the State Government having moved across from his home in Yirrkala (indigenous community near Nhulunbuy) working primarily on Defense based and commercial projects. After spending 8 years in Darwin, Shane then moved across to Queensland to work with the then Connell Wagner developing their building services capability in northern Queensland over a 2 year period. The operations manager at the time took up a role with another company (CCD Australia) in Perth and invited Shane 6 months later to move across and help build their mechanical services team as team leader. CCD Australia was then integrated with Sinclair Knight Merz.
Through his various roles and project works across Australia, Shane had the unique opportunity to work in remote regions across Australia including projects associated with the indigenous community. One of the most rewarding projects Shane worked on was Project Management and Design Management of a new indigenous health clinic in Derby, WA. This was a crucial social infrastructure project that brought much needed medical health and support / counseling for domestic violence to indigenous communities in and around Derby.
Shane has a bachelor of Technology in mechanical engineering and is an accredited professional with the Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air conditioning and Heating (AIRAH). Shane is also a Green Star Accredited professional (Aus) with extensive background in Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) initiatives.
Shane is married to his wife Judy and has five children.
